Junk removal across California

California has strict disposal rules and a huge range of job sites: Los Angeles high-rises, Bay Area tech campuses, Inland Empire warehouses, Central Valley farms and San Diego's military and biotech employers.

Commercial junk removal in California

Cargo from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach moves inland to distribution centers in Ontario, Fontana, Riverside and Moreno Valley, so racking removal and 3PL changeovers are common across the Inland Empire. In the Bay Area and Silicon Valley, office consolidations and lab decommissions lead. Retail chains rolling out store resets across the state need one vendor that can cover every site.

Related services: warehouse cleanouts, 3PL warehouse decommissioning, pallet racking removal and retail store cleanouts.

Common California projects

  • Taking down racking in an Inland Empire warehouse between 3PL tenants
  • Decommissioning a Bay Area office or lab and recycling the electronics
  • Running resets and closures for retail chains with locations across California

What can and can't go in the trash in California

  • California's universal waste rules make it illegal for households and businesses to put electronic devices such as TVs, monitors, computers, printers and cell phones in the trash (DTSC).
  • California is one of four states with a mattress recycling program. Bye Bye Mattress, run by the Mattress Recycling Council, offers free drop-off funded by an $18 fee on each new mattress or box spring.
  • Under SB 1383, CalRecycle requires businesses to subscribe to organic waste collection or self-haul organics, and cities set their own bulky-item pickup rules.
  • Federal Section 608 rules require refrigerant to be recovered from appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners before disposal.

State guidance comes from the CalRecycle (Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery). Local haulers and landfills may add their own limits.

Frequently asked questions

Can businesses in California throw away monitors or TVs?

No. California bans covered electronic devices from disposal for businesses, government and households alike. We route electronics to recycling as part of the job and can provide a certificate of destruction on request.

Do you recycle mattresses in California?

Yes. California's Bye Bye Mattress program covers mattress recycling, and we route mattresses there rather than to a landfill.

Do you remove pallet racking?

Yes. Our crews take down racking and haul it away, along with pallets and other warehouse debris.
